Why You Are Not Loosing Weight While Eating in a Deficit

Recently, I have been working with a client of mine who seemed to be stuck at her weight. It wouldn't budge!

The first month we worked together she made a lot of changes! She is a busy nurse who worked long hours and went out with friends after work every evening to grab the social dinner out.

So she stopped eating out 4 times a week and began weighing her food. She already had a cardio routine in place and she added lifting again 4x times a week.

This gal is very regimented (and I mean that in the best way!). I knew her years before we started training. She didn't drink. She a very active job averaging out 8,000-10,000 steps. So when she didn't loose a single pound for entire month I couldn't figure it out....why did she stop loosing weight?

Turns out the little bite and lick here and there was adding up...

Our last diet check she told me she actually stuck to the meal plan we had created together this week. No little modifications here and there. She notice this time around she was a little more hungry but the number in the scale started to drop within a week! She said, "It's a little boring, but it's also very easy!"

Let me be clear, I am not advocating a strict diet or telling anyone that they need to live their life under a microscope.

In fact, our meal plan is completely based off of the things that she enjoys. My client is a bit of a picky eater and there is nothing wrong with knowing what you like and what you don't! My rule when creating meal plans with clients or myself is that you must include one thing that you look forward to in every meal, otherwise you won't eat it or stick to your meal plan!
